Monsters of the Deep: treasure guide

Monsters of the Deep is a Geo Descent Labs adventure that sees the player dive headfirst into another GDL adventure, this time to explore deep underwater tunnels, battle against dangerous sea creatures and restore power to the subaquatic base.

Hiding in the murky depths of each of the three tunnels, there are hidden treasure chests waiting to be found. Each chest, each coin, is one step closer to the next suit upgrade, culminating in the beautiful, dazzling unicorn suit, the envy of any GDL employee!

But collecting them all isn’t easy. While some are hidden in plain sight, others are squirrelled away in the most unusual of places! Well, fear not. With this handy guide, you’ll be able to find all those sneaky coins and unlock the must-have fashion suit in all the seven seas!

Shipwreck Cove

The final resting place of many a doomed vessel, Shipwreck Cove is the home to the terrible and fearsome Shipwreck Shark, a beast of such ferocity that it has single-handedly turned dozens of ships into sunken husks.

But its not just the Shipwreck Shark that hunts in these terrible waters. The drowned sailors of those once maned ships now roam the ocean floor, ready to drag any living soul into the darkness with them, as well as vicious skeletal fish hungry to eat that which they no longer possess. Scavenge among the wreck and ruins of these once proud ships and find the gold lurking within!

Once you’ve condemned the Shipwreck Shark to its watery fate, you will receive the map that will lead you to the golden chest, the most well-hidden of all the treasures lurking in this ghastly graveyard!

Coral reef

In the colourful beauty of the coral reef lurks a bruising bully, ready to crush all intruders that dare enter his lair: the terrible BigClaw Crab!

This caustic crustation isn’t alone amongst the coral, guarding the gold contained within are poisonous pufferfish, stinging jellyfish and the BigClaw Crab’s babies that burst from their eggs if anyone is foolish enough to get too close!

Once you crack that crab’s shell and send it packing back to GDL, you’ll find the map that will lead you to the BigClaw Crab’s precious golden chest.

Volcanic tunnel

The most dangerous of the three regions, the volcanic tunnel is a terrifying place where fire and water collide in volatile fashion.

While this treacherous realm is full of its own terrible dangers, such as volcanic manta ray and slippy sea eels - with their own young ready to burst out of their eggs and grapple any unsuspecting scuba diver - the most deadly and dangerous creature of them all is the terrible Sea Dragon! A master of sea and sky, this draconic monster looms large over all other beasts in the Seven Seas, striking down anyone foolish enough to cross its path!

Drag this dragon down to Earth and you get the final treasure map leading you to the final glorious golden chest! Also, don’t forget the chest hanging out by GDL’s base. We’re not sure why Alan hasn’t snapped that one up yet… maybe he didn’t want to get his hair wet?
