The Mech Guide

As soon as you spawn into a new Survival Mech world, you’ll have a tablet that will tell you all about how to get started in Survival Mech, how to craft the Mechs and Modules, what fuel to use, and so much more!

It can also place the Survival Mech Guide Book down in the world for you to refer back to. Interact with it to flip the pages.

It’s your very own player guide inside Minecraft!

The Prototype Mech

Building the Prototype Mech

Prototype Mech Recipe - 6x Planks (any wood), 1x Slab (Any wood), 1x Gravel and 1x String

The Prototype Mech is a quick way to get yourself up and going in the world of Survival Mechs! It's cheaper to make but needs a lot more fuel to run, and can’t be upgraded.

Being an early game option, Prototypes only have 3 Prototype Modules that they can use: Prototype Chop Module, Prototype Grow Module and Prototype Mine Module

Prototype Chop Module Recipe - 3x Wooden Axe, 4x Planks (any wood), 1x Stick and 1x String

Attach Sawblades to your arms and make cutting down that forest a dream, cutting one 3x3 chunk at a time!

Prototype Grow Module Recipe - 3x Bone Meal, 4x Planks (any wood), 1x Stick and 1x String

Watch those flowers and potatoes bloom! The water from this Mech makes plants and trees grow in no time flat, ready for your next meal or spring garden!

Prototype Mine Module

Prototype Mine Module Recipe - 3x Wooden Pickaxe, 4x Planks (any wood), 1x Stick and 1x String

Hit Bedrock in no time! This drill chews through Dirt and Stone like it's not even there. Might destroy valubles though, so do bear that in mind

The Survival Mech

Before you can do anything, you need to build a Survival Mech!

Building the Mech

Survival Mech Recipe - 6x Iron Ingots, 1x Leather, 1x Furnace and 1x Redstone Block

To craft a Survival Mech, gather the items listed above and then craft the Mech in a Crafting Table, using the recipe in the Crafting Table Crafting Book.

You can then place the Mech down and start your Survival Mech adventure!

We recommend doing this outside with plenty of space, those Mechs are big, and you can’t pick them up once you put them down, so not the best thing to spawn in your lovely Minecraft home or a crowded forest!

Fuelling your Mechs

Like everyone and everything, Survival Mechs need fuel to function, otherwise they just move really slowly and can’t do their intended tasks.

You can convert Coal, Charcoal, Wood and Bamboo into fuel in any Crafting Menu.

To fuel your Mech, interact with it to jump onboard, then open your inventory.

This will open up the Mech’s inventory, where you can add fuel to power it. Looking inside the Mech’s inventory or over its head will tell you how much fuel it has left, and also its health!

Controlling Your Mechs

Prototype Mech Controller Recipe - 2x Planks (any wood), 1x Button (Any wood) and 1x String

Mech Controller Recipe - 2x Iron Ingots, 1x Button [Any] and 1x Redstone Dust

Moving around on a Mech is easy, just interact with it to jump onboard and move around, just like riding a horse! To get out of the Mech, just hit the Sneak key.

Getting it to perform its module actions requires a Mech Control. This can be crafted in a Crafting Table, using the recipe in the Crafting Table Crafting Book.

Once you have your Mech Control, jump into your mech and hit interact while holding the Control, and the Mech will perform the action designated by the attached Mech Module!

Mech Modules

With the use of Mech Modules, Survival Mechs can do all sorts of things!

Depending on what you want your Mech to do, you’ll need to craft the correct Module for that.

Below are all the recipes to craft them, and more about what they do. Once you’ve added the module to your Mech (by interacting with the Mech while holding the module), you can activate it using the Mech Control.

Grow Module

Say goodbye to waiting for wheat to grow. The Farming Module super-grows trees and crops, getting them ready to harvest in a splash! (Get it? … ‘cause it sprinkles water)

TNT Module

Unearth treasures in a flash using the Mining Module. No more wasting pickaxes on boring strip mining; just drill your way to riches.

Just remember the number one rule: don’t dig straight down.

Jewel Module

Jewel Module Recipe - 4x Iron Ingots, 2x Redstone Dust and 3x Diamond Pickaxe

When you’re looking for diamonds, who really wants all that deepslate filling up your inventory?

Chew through that filler and get to the good stuff (aka ore and diamonds) with the power of the Jewel Module!

Chopping Module

Chopping Module Recipe - 4x Iron Ingots, 2x Redstone Dust and 3x Iron Axe

Sick of chopping down trees to clear space for your new masterpiece? Need a load of wood for your project but don’t want to spend forever gathering it? With the Chopping Module, take the fuss out of chopping wood and let it devour forests, one chunk at a time!

Speed Module

Speed Module Recipe - 4x Iron Ingots, 2x Redstone Dust and 3x Nether Wart

Can’t wait to get somewhere? Need to reach the top of that mountain before a creeper blows up your villagers? The Speed Module has you covered. With the press of a button, the Mech speeds up for a short time, sending you charging across the world and to wherever you’re going in a flash.

Warrior Module

Warrior Module Recipe - 4x Iron Ingots, 2x Redstone Dust 2x Gold Sword and 1x Diamond Sword

Take the fight to the mobs of the world with the Warrior Module

This module gives the mech a MASSIVE sword, which can take out all but the toughest monsters in a few swings! No-one will be able to withstand your might!

Removing Mech Modules

Prototype Decraft Recipe - 3x Planks (any wood), 3x Slabs (Any wood) and 1x String

Decraft Recipe - 1x Iron Ingots, 3x Redstone Dust, and 3x Leather

Mech Modules can be removed using a Decraft Kit. Holding this item and interacting with a Mech removes the currently installed Mech Module from it, allowing you to install another.

You get the module back so you can install it again later if you want!

Repairing your mech

Prototype Mech Repair Kit Recipe - 1x Planks (any wood), 3x Slabs (Any wood), 2x Stick and 1x String

Mech Repair Kit Recipe - 1x Iron Ingot, 3x Coal, and 3x Leather

Survival Mechs might look tough but they can take damage and will break apart if they run out of health. You can check the Mech’s health by checking your Mech’s Inventory or looking at the text bar above it. Mechs will also smoke if they get too damaged.

Never fear there is a way to patch up your beloved Survival Mech, with a Repair Kit!

Just use a Repair Kit on the Mech and it will recover 15 health, letting you keep on trucking!

Upgrading your Mech

Gold Mech Upgrade Kit Recipe - 3x Iron Ingots, 2x Redstone Dust, 3x Gold Ingots and 1x Gold Block

Diamond Mech Upgrade Kit Recipe - 3x Iron Ingots, 2x Redstone Dust, 3x Diamonds and 1x Diamond Block

Want to take your Mech to the next level? Then it's time to Upgrade!

Run faster, jump higher, use less fuel and take more hits; these upgrade kits can turn your Mech from a simple machine into a monster tool to help you tame your survival world!

These upgrades stack, so you don’t need to remove one to apply the other. Remember you can’t upgrade Prototype Mechs!
