Secret Evil Lair: Traps and Rays

Every good supervillain needs an arsenal of fun and cruel tricks and traps with which to punish any do-gooders or minions foolish enough to try to foil their evil machinations

Thanks to the E.I.G (Evil is Good) Corporation you too can have a well-stocked armoury bursting with ridiculous rays, tantalising traps and cunning chairs to fill your lair with and make those around you suffer for getting in your way!

In this guide, we’ll present you the full range of E.I.G products, from rays and vehicles to traps and chairs as well as ways to control your minions!

We’ll also show you what each of them does and how to create them so you can be the best villain you can be!

Base Ray

Crafting items: 4x Iron Ingots and 1x Blaze Rod

As the name suggests, this ray is the base from which all other rays are created.

Mod it with other items to create any of the rays mentioned below or use it on its own when you just want to deal damage to something without all the bells and whistles.

Sometimes simple is best.

Freeze Ray

Crafting items: 4x Ice and 1x Base Ray

Freeze the competition with this ‘cool’ little number.

Shooting concentrated burst of frozen air, the Freeze Ray slows then completely freezes your target, leaving them frozen and helpless for a short time.

It works ‘winters’! (Get it, it’s like wonders but wintery….)

Squeeze Ray

Crafting items: 4x Piston and 1x Base Ray

Squish and squeeze your adversaries with the Squeeze Ray!

Flatten them until they’re thin as a pencil and just as tall, allowing them to walk through smaller gaps than they usually could. The effects don’t last long so use it to trap people into prisons they can’t escape from or use it to make a quick getaway where people can’t follow you!

Or just use it to help people finally experience what it’s like to be tall.

Cheese Ray

Crafting items: 4x Milk Bucket and 1x Base Ray

Who doesn’t like cheese? It’s one of the tastiest substances known to mankind!

Turn your friends, enemies and minions into cheese with the Cheese Ray! Ok, a bit dramatic, the Cheese Ray actually coats the target in cheese blinding them until they knock the cheese off by bumping into something, getting hit by a trap, falling in lava…. anything that hurts just a little bit.

Bees Ray

Crafting items: 4x Honey Bottle and 1x Base Ray

Not the bees! Oh no, not the bees!

With the power of the Bees Ray, fire bees at the target and watch then swarm around them, lifting the unfortunate soul into the skies, ready for an unpleasant drop

Oh man, they’re everywhere! They’re in my eyes! MY EYES!

Trees Ray

Crafting items: 4x Sapling and 1X Base Ray

Turn the power of Mother Nature on to your enemy with the Trees Ray!

Fire this ray at a location and watch a tree sudden appear in that spot! Use it to suffocate enemies or in the Boom Box to quickly and efficiently farm wood for your evil machinations.

Ray Stand

Crafting items: 3x Iron Ingots and 1x Iron Bars

Want your foolish enemy to fire the ray at themselves? Invest in a Ray Stand!

Install your Ray Stand with your most devious ray, pop it in a tight corridor where they can’t walk anywhere but under it and watch the fools fire upon themselves!

Ray Turret

Crafting items: 3x Iron Ingots, 3x Iron Nuggets and 1x Iron Bars

Sometimes it’s just so much effort to fire a ray yourself. You gotta lift your arm then aim and then you have to fire, it’s just work.

Why not save yourself the effort with the help of the Ray Turret! Equip it with your favourite ray and watch it shoot anything that isn’t you without having to lift a finger.

Quadbike

Crafting items: 3x Minecart and 2x Redstone Dust

Walking is boring. It’s slow, it’s exhausting, you get all muddy, it’s just not worth the effort.

So why not use the E.I.G branded quadbike to get around instead?! Sturdy enough to take on any terrain, the quadbike isn’t only an easy way to get around but a fashion statement, showing off your speed and strength to those miserable villagers and those annoying mobs.

Buggy

Crafting items: 3x Minecart

The evil base can seem a bit big sometimes so speed up travel with the E.I.G Buggy!

Big enough to fit you and 3 of your favourite, or least favourite, minions, the Buggy is the quickest was you travel around your wonderful, trap-filled lair and check in on all the workers to make sure they’re doing exactly what they’re supposed to.

Plane

Crafting items: 3x Minecraft and 3x Paper

Why walk when you can soar over those annoying villagers and rain fire down from the sky like a god!

Take to the skies with this stylish E.I.G branded plane, complete with rocket launchers to level the landscape and reduce villages to rubble. It’s also a lovely way to get around and see the sights of the world unravelling below you.

Hovercraft

Crafting items: 3x Minecart and 3x Boat

Why swim when you can speed over the water in style!

With the Hovercraft, you are the master of the water, traversing the sea with a drink in hand and no tedious rowing or exercise.

Boss Crown

Crafting items: 3x Iron Ingot, 2x Redstone Dust and 1x Emerald

Show off your status as the boss as well as control those jibbering minions!

While wearing this stylish number, no turret or minion will dare lay a finger on you while going straight for any enemy that stands in your way.

Boss Baton

Crafting items: 1x Stick and 2x Redstone

Control your minions with precision!

‘Interacting’ with minions while holding the baton changes their status. Tell them to stand still, follow you around or just have them wander around and get into trouble, it’s up to you.

Whatever you command them to do, they’ll still attack enemies on sight. They’re protective like that.

Boss Cake Launcher

Crafting items: 4x Iron Ingots, 1x Redstone Dust and 1x Cake

Forget your boss helmet and are now being chased by a horde of minions? Or want that annoying Minion #25 to walk into a laser trap? What better way than with cake!

Minions go crazy for cake! Fire the launcher where you want your minion to be and watch it happily skip into the deadliest of traps, blind to all but that tasty cake.

The one thing minions love more than cake is their boss so this little beauty wont work if you’ve commanded your minions to follow you.

Launcher

Crafting items: 2x Iron Ingots, 3x Redstone Dust and 1x Gunpowder

Want to launch a minion or other annoying creature as far away from you as reasonably possible?

Have them stand on this little gadget! Press the big red button and watch them disappear in whichever direction you want, into whatever you want.

So long as it isn’t near you.

It can also be used as an elytra launcher, allowing you to set off with ridiculous height and speed without a firework, but, personally, that’s not as fun as punting a minion into the void.

Minion Bucket

Crafting items: 1x Bucket

Minions slowing you down or want to easily carry your minion army to your next village raid?

Then grab a bucket and scoop them up! Their squishy anatomy means minions can perfectly fit into a normal Minecraft bucket and be carried along. Always have a minion on hand to protect you! Or to mess with, you’re the boss after all.

Pusher Trap

Crafting items: 1x Painting, 1x Piston and 2x Brick

No one likes a wall hugger, they scuff the paint something awful!

Make them pay with the pusher trap. From the outside, an innocent painting, but hidden behind is a powerful spring that shoves the pesky intruder back and into the corridor, or off a cliff. Where ever you want them to go that isn’t the wall.

Floor Spike Trap

Crafting items: 1x Iron Ingot, 4x Stick and 3x Planks

You can’t beat a classic.

Simple and efficient, this trap hides in the floor, shooting up sharp spikes when stepped on to punish those who wander somewhere you don’t want them to.

Can be used in conjunction with other traps or just on its own, its versatile and will never let you down

Punch Box Trap

Crafting items: 2x Brick, 1x Piston, 1x Gold Ingot and 1x Chest

Hate it when people root through your things without asking? Make them suffer for their curiosity with this Punch Box Trap.

The trap is simple, It looks like a normal chest but when it’s opened a hand wielding a mallet comes out and socks the thief right in the kisser.

That’ll teach them to go snooping.

Buzz Saw Trap

Crafting items: 4x Iron Ingot and 1x Lever

The deadlier cousin of the Pusher Trap, Buzz Saw Traps are just buzz saws that jut out of the wall and slice any nearby intruders to ribbons.

Sadly these traps don’t always know friend from foe so be careful when getting the blades sharpened… maybe get a minion to do it instead.

Laser Trap

Crafting items: 4x Iron Ingot and 2x Redstone Dust

Beloved of action movie villains everywhere, this Laser Trap is innocuous but deadly!

Seemingly little more than a single line of red light, this beam of hyper-concentrated light burns through flesh and bone, bringing a rapid end to any intruder foolish enough to not look towards the floor.

Chair Frame

Crafting items: 2x Leather, 2x Wool, 1x Saddle and 3x Planks

All chairs need a stable base or you may as well sit on the floor.

While you can’t actually sit on it, this chair frame is the ‘framework’ by which you can create all the dastardly chairs E.I.G has developed to torment your unwitting business partners. Or minions. Or anyone who wants to sit down.

Rocket Chair

Crafting items: 4x Firework and 1x Chair Frame

Want to see space while sitting in the comfort of an office chair?

No? Too bad! With the Rocket Chair, you can launch anyone and everyone into the stratosphere without becoming a multi-billionaire!

As for how they’ll get down, well gravity will see to that…eventually.

Freeze Chair

Crafting items: 4x Ice and 1x Chair Frame

Meeting getting a bit heated? Feel like one of your partners needs to ‘cool off'?

Well, help them out with the Freeze Chair! At the click of a button, the chair shoots out bursts of freezing air, freezing the occupant solid.

It’s like the Freeze Ray, but a chair!

Poison Chair

Crafting items: 4x Poisonous Potato and 1x Chair Frame

Sick of someone in the meeting never shutting up?

Make them sick too with the Poison Chair. Cover them in a cloud of nauseating gas and watch them go from talking to coughing to sweet beautiful silence… as they run from the room to the bathroom!

Lightning Chair

Crafting items: 4x Lightning Rod and 1x Chair Frame

Summon the power of the storm of your annoying associates with the lightning chair.

A click of a button and Thor himself will rain lightning down upon them until they’re nothing but a crisp!

Spin Chair

Crafting items: 1x Jukebox and 1x Chair Frame

You spin me right round, baby, right round, like a record player, right round, right round!!

Send the meeting into a tizz with the Spin Chair. The chair spins its occupant around and around, making them so dizzy they’ll forget what they were talking about!

Chair Control Panel

Crafting items: 6x Button, 2x Iron Ingot and 1x Redstone Block

With all these devious chairs, you need a way to control them, otherwise, they’ll never work! With this Chair Control Panel, you can activate every chair individually so you can punish the right person at the right time, without alerting all the others to your schemes!
