The cold never bothered us anyway

Hi Noxcrew community!

Surprise!

At long last, I can reveal that the super secret project we’ve been working on for months was Minecraft’s Frozen, in association with Microsoft and Disney. It’s been a heck of a project to be involved in, not just the length of time we’ve been working on it but all the bits and pieces the team have done to make it as authentic to the films as humanly possible in Minecraft.

On a personal note, I have to give a huge congratulations to the entire team, who worked tirelessly to make Frozen the best they could even when things got tricky or started to break. (Darn you 1.13 conversion) A special mention to Lauren who took on the monumental task of being Frozen’s Project Manager in her very first project management gig! Talk about leaping in at the deep end!

We’re all a bit shell shocked by the response to be honest, we knew it was a big task as people are very passionate about Frozen (Lauren and I are both huge fans so we know first hand) so we’re very thankful for everyone’s support and glad you guys seems to like it!

As you might expect, this won’t be the last time you hear me talk about Frozen. I’ll be doing a series of behind the scenes articles, both on features inside the map and all the work everyone put into it in the coming weeks, so look out for those if you’re interested in that sort of thing.

Also, keep an eye on our twitter as we’ll be running another Frozen giveaway with 25 more codes up for grabs over very soon!

Even with our biggest map of the year out and our team meetup only days away (I really need to start packing) we don’t slow down here at Noxcrew!

Alongside touching up elements of Frozen that we want to improve (we’re never really completely happy with anything) the team went back to another of our ‘forgotten’ projects Codename: Cow this week to see what needs to be done to get it back off the ground and out to you guys

Looks like it needs a lot of help as it wasn’t as far along as DvD when we dropped everything to work on MCC and Frozen so it’s going to take a bit longer than expected but it’s nice to make a start.

Speaking of DvD, the map’s behaviours are finally being finalised while Stu has been working on a neat little game mode that we wanted to add to the first Destructobot, but couldn’t at the time! Miluteen’s also been working on a fun little selector station where you can pick and choose which Destructobot you want to use to bash those damn dirty dinos!

And that's your lot! We’re off to our annual Nox Meet on Monday to celebrate our jolly holis and plan the next batch of projects for 2020 (As always I’ll be championing a return to Jeoffrey’s Chamber) so there may or may not be a full update next week. If not, I’ll have something lovely lined up for you all, never you fear.

Until then, have a great week!
