Living in the heart of a beautiful snowy valley, surrounded by towering mountains and mysterious forests, all warm and cosy in a luxurious mansion sounds like the perfect life. Having accomplished all that wouldn’t you just want to snuggle up next to the fire, sip some cocoa and watch the snowflakes drift peacefully through the air?
No!
There’s no time to sit around, there’s so much to see and do! In this winter valley, there are so many places to explore, games to play and adventures to go on it can be hard to know where to start!
In this handy guide, we’ll show you the in-things to do on the island, whatever your taste. From mini-games to vehicles to build quests, there’s always something to dive into!
Ski Slope
Key places: Top of the Mountain, Ski Lodge Mansion
You’re in one of the most breathtaking places on the planet; why not take advantage of it by riding down it with two pieces of wood tied to your feet?
Ride up the ski lift and choose your course! Will you practice on the easy course, try out the world champion course, or go off track and explore the dangerous caverns at the mountain’s peak? Whichever you decide, look out for that stripy snow on the track; riding over it allows you to jump and grab more air, like Eddie the Eagle!
Think that skiing is just too much hard work? Grab a snowmobile and explore the peaks that way. It’s far less effort but just as perilous!
Water Rapids
Key places: River cave in the Forest
Rapid riding can be an exhilarating adrenaline rush, combining breakneck speed with the beauty of nature.
Hop in a raft at the top of the course and ride the river as fast as you can down into the lake below without taking a dip in the drink. Race against your friends or yourself; it’s all about the experience at the end of the day.
The Rapids too rapid for you? Pick up a boat at the docks and row merrily around the lake, enjoying the spectacular view and freezing water.
Disk Golf
Key places: Disk Golf Shack
It’s crazy golf but bigger! Traverse the valley in the 8 hole gauntlet, putting up trees, through dangerous icy caves and across the mountain edge, before finishing in the middle of the lake at the heart of the valley!
With two different disks, each with different ranges, Disk Golf requires strategy and skill to make it home under par… or at least with fewer throws than your friends.
Arcade Machines
Key places: Lakeside Mansion and Gadget Warehouse
In the ancient times of the 1980’s, there were no consoles, no gaming PC’s and no smartphones to entertain the youth of the day. What they had were arcades. Mysterious dungeons filled with flashing lights, obscure technology and games that were designed specifically to suck up all your money… I guess times haven’t changed too much.
Relive the excitement of the arcade with these four fabulous arcade machines! From motorcycle races to capturing aliens to punching moles in the face, it’s retro gaming at its finest.
Building Blueprints
Key places: Log Cabin, Observatory and Resort Mansion
Mansions are all good, but they could always be better.
Put your skills to the test and help expand these mansions into even more magnificent spaces! Interact with the blueprint and watch the schematics build up right before your eyes. From greenhouses to scientific towers of discovery, flex those building muscles and add your unique style to these grand buildings!
Or just build a giant golden tree, you do you.
Build your own Mansion
Key places: Cliff Ridge next to the Ski Lodge Mansion
It’s all well and good taking an existing place and reworking it to suit your style, but wouldn’t it be so much nicer if you could dictate your own home to the smallest detail? What the floors look like, what’s on the walls, if the swimming pool is in the upstairs bathroom or on the roof.
Take matters into your own hands and make the house of your dreams in this stunning locale overlooking the whole valley. It’s even got easy access to the ski slopes if that’s your sort of thing.
Build tasks
Key places: All Mansions
They say that home is where the heart is, the place where you can be completely, entirely yourself. As such, your home, even if it’s a mansion on the edge of a cliff, should reflect you and your style.
A few of the rooms in the various mansions have been left empty; either the owners were too busy or just too lazy to decorate the place themselves, leaving them free for you to put your own stamp on the place. Follow the mansion’s aesthetic or fill the room with arcade machines; it’s up to you.
Disaster tasks
Key places: All Mansions
If you’re gonna build your home in one of the most hostile places on the planet, you really shouldn’t be surprised when nature invites itself in for tea!
Clean up after a vicious wolf invasion, sweep up after a hoarder or clear a mansion after the strongest blizzard on record; there are a lot of disastrous situations that need to be taken care of. After the mess is all cleaned up, you’ll have a lovely, safe room to decorate however you please… provided the reindeer don’t set up shop again.
Ice Sculping
Key places: Ice Sculpting areas around the Valley
Ice Sculpting is one of the most beautiful forms of art in the world. To take something so fragile, so impermanent and create statues of such wonderful complexity, destined to return to shapeless water, yet for a short time shine in the light of the winter sun, is pure genius.
Take part in this wonderous art form all over the valley. From swans to castles to zombies riding chickens, let your artistic flair thrive.
Ice Hockey
Key places: Ice Hockey Rink on the Frozen Lake
The fun of hockey with the danger of ice, it’s a perfect combination!
Team up and take to the ice in this high action game where the goal is to score more points than your opponent and hopefully not lose all your teeth doing it! Score and watch the confetti rain down to celebrate your achievement. It’ll even reset the pitch so you can carry on with the game without worrying about slipping over.
You could use the pitch to play football as well I suppose, bit slippy though.
