July Roundup

I know I say this far too often, but it's been a pretty exciting month for us here at Noxcrew! Here's a quick run down of what we've been up to throughout July, including two map releases, and why we completely dropped off the radar last week...

As promised, this month we released a brand new series made especially for the most creative of Minecraft players! Our first two toolboxes, Millionaire Mansions and Castles & Dragons were released this month and embrace everything from building, interior design and customisation; perfect for practising your building and design skills, or for creating roleplay worlds with your friends. We started off by focussing on two of our favourite themes and have even more lined up, so keep your eyes peeled for more coming soon! If you like what you're hearing and want to see more, click the Creations button below, or head straight to the Minecraft store and search "creative toolbox" using the store search function to buy the maps!

In last month's roundup we talked about year one, the maps we've released, and our trip over to Redmond, Washington to meet up with the Minecraft team and other partners; if you haven't had a chance to read it yet, click here. As July marks the official start of year two of the Minecraft Marketplace, we've been talking a lot about the maps and experiences that we want to make in the future. In the past we've been well known for our epic, story-based maps. Although we still have a couple in the works that we would love to release this year, so many other ideas are taking up our time! During the course of our conversations, one thing became very clear: we're going to need a bigger team. And so, during the first week of the month, we made the decision to begin expanding our team and opened up applications. We'll be interviewing the top candidates over the coming weeks, so stay tuned as you'll be able to meet our new team members pretty soon!

Last week we were able to get the entirety of the map making team together in one place for the first time. We shipped all 14 team members out to the English countryside for a week of relaxing, playing games and celebrating a fantastic first year as a business! We at the Noxcrew work from home, and those homes are all across the world, mostly in Europe, but also across the seas in the USA! Because we work in different time zones and rarely have the opportunity to see each other, we decided to take a week almost completely off the radar in order to come together to relax and get to know each other a little better, particularly the members who haven't had the chance to attend an event before. After our week in Norfolk, we headed down to London for a couple of nights to meet up with some of our community members too! We'll be uploading more pictures to our Instagram page soon so head on over there to see more of our beautiful faces! Incidentally, we reached 500 followers this month, so drop a comment on your favourite picture and let us know what else you'd like to see on there.

On a final note, we'd like to wave farewell to Luke "Skywalker" who joined our team back in October 2017 but has now left us to work full time on his own ventures. Luke is a fantastic builder who previously worked with the Hypixel team, and we've been lucky enough to have him with us on many of our maps over the last eight months. We wish you the very best of luck with Pixels & Blocks!
