Chicken Runners

Taming

The first task of riding a chicken is finding and taming a Chicken Runner to ride!

Thankfully, taming a Chicken Runner is pretty easy. Just feed it some seeds, and it’ll be eating out of the palm of your hand, literally!

What do they do?

But what IS a Chicken Runner, and what makes them different from your normal Minecraft Chicken?

Well, Chicken Runners are larger, which means you can ride them without hurting them, and they can fall from great heights without getting hurt.

They’re also super protective of their owners and will fight by your side if you ever get into any scrapes! Don’t worry about them getting hurt. You can equip them with armour to protect them, inventory space to help you carry your junk, and flags to decorate them and claws that offer special abilities.

LEGO Chicken Runners also have a special ability that, when they die, they become a pile of LEGO bricks. Interact with the pile to rebuild your LEGO Chicken Runner and get right back to your adventure.

Shearing Chicken Runners

You can shear both your LEGO and Minecraft Chicken Runners to get a LEGO Feather or a Large Feather.

You can use these in all the crafting recipes for this Add-On.

Don’t shear too much, though, you might hurt the chicken!

Chicken Runner Breeds

There are many different breeds of Chicken Runners, both Minecraft AND LEGO, which you can find all over the world.

Chicken Runners

Chicken Runners (both Minecraft and LEGO) can spawn all around the world. If you can find a Chicken there, you can find a Chicken Runner! Like Minecraft Chickens, they’ll look different depending on the biome you find them in.

Special Chicken Runners

You can also find special Chicken Runners in unique locations, each with its own unique abilities.

Lava Chicken Runner

Found in The Nether, the Lava Chicken Runner can walk across lava and sets enemies on fire when it attacks.

Undead Chicken Runner

The Undead Chicken Runner only spawns at night and will burn in daylight unless it has Barding (more on that below)! However, it can breathe underwater, which is cool.

Golem Chicken Runner

You can find the Golem Chicken Runner near villages where it knocks back any foe unfortunate enough to tangle with it! It's a bit slower than the others, but it has loads of health to make up for it.

End Chicken Runner

Unsurprisingly, you can find the End Chicken Runner in the End! While on the back of this Chicken Runner, you can look up or down to fly. When it attacks an enemy, it teleports itself away.

Special LEGO Chicken Runners

To find the special LEGO Chicken Runners, you’ll need to find a Chicken Farm in the world and trade with the farmer for their eggs! You need these special eggs to craft their spawn eggs

Equipment

Once tamed, Chicken Runners have 4 customisable equipment slots. These are the Barding, Saddlebags, Flags, and Claws slots!

Placing Equipment

To place equipment on your Chicken Rider, hold the equipment you want to place, look at your Chicken Runner, then interact with it. This will swap out or place your equipment on them!

Barding

You can increase the armour of your chicken by equipping Barding! Some barding is just for style but all of them will prevent your Undead Chicken Runner from burning in the sun!

You can craft all Barding, except Barding for baby Chickens which you can buy from the Chicken Farmer

Saddle Bags

You can have your chicken carry things for you with saddlebags! Or you can add an extra seat for a ride-along!

How to Play

Jousting is all about charging your opponent with the right lance equipped.

To joust on your Chicken Runners, equip the “Jousting Barding” on your Chicken and one of the three “Jousting Lances”: Stone, Shears, and TNT.
