Ships in the Night

Hi Noxcrew community!

It’s two months into 2020 and we’ve shipped a map!

That’s right, after a week of intensive group testing, some final mechanical touch ups and a lot of photo shoots for marketing, DvD has been shipped off to Minecraft for assessment! (Ring the ‘Ship it’ bell everyone!) It’s such a relief for DvD to finally be out of the door, we’ve been working on it since last year, so it’s about time we finished it! Hopefully it’ll not be tied up in testing for too long and it’ll be out for you guys to enjoy!

With all the excitement around DvD getting shipped, Codename: Cow’s been overshadowed yet again, but that's not to say that it’s hasn’t made progress. Behaviours have had a lot of love this week, with Stuart making sure that our entities act like we want them to and do all the cool stuff we envisioned they would (oo aren’t I being all cryptic) Hopefully with these behaviours in place and the quests one step closer to completion, Codename: COW will follow DvD out of the door really soon!

Mega Moustache Tales’ build phase is still underway, with the world taking shape nicely. Our colourblock phase has also paid off, with the art team making great headway on the map’s entities and the textures requested by the build team for certain structures. At this rate, we should (fingers crossed) have the map converted to bedrock sometime next week! (At least we hope so, we predict these thing but it’s us, things happen)

Finally, It’s only 2 days until MCC hits your screens once again and we’re still working hard to make sure it’s better than it was last time. We ran 2 tests this week before the big event on Sunday and they both were exceptionally useful! Our brilliant community testers picked out several niggling bugs that managed to fly under our radar and helped us get them fixed up. We have one last test lined up for Saturday (You can never be too prepared) where we’ll hopefully finalise all our changes and be ready to go!

We also finished announcing all the MCC teams that will be joining us on the night so you know who’s taking part and who to watch as it all goes down! (I’ll be watching our developers’ stream and probably InTheLittleWoods on the night, though might glance in on Techno’s too, see if he’s as good as people are saying!)

It’s going to be an exciting night so I hope you’ll all join us!

As you wait for the show to start why not check out thevoidfrog’s interview with Noxite and Avondale where they discuss the history of Noxcrew in their typical rambling way. It’s a great insight into how we got to where we are now so give it a listen if you’re into that sort of thing.

Until next time, have a great week!
